Kota was one of two tribes with 9 castaways that began in episode 1701. The tribe was known for their extensive winning streak in challenges. Kota's tribe color was yellow.

On day ten, the tribes were rated amongst themselves and were then chosen in a schoolyard pick 'em style and the following people were chosen as the new members:
On day twenty-two, each tribe member reached into a bag and pulled out a stone with a number from 1-10. Those who picked even numbers became members of the new Fang tribe. The following were members of the new Fang Tribe.
